Gold plated brass

Our recycled brass jewelry is gold plated with 5 micron 18k gold and then clear coated with a protective anti tarnish layer. Nevertheless, perfumes, creams, lotions, and makeup all contain substances than could affect plated jewelry.

• Wash your hands before putting on or taking off plated jewelry and put them on after you have applied make up and perfume.
• Don’t wear gold plated jewelry while preparing food.
• Don’t swim in your plated jewelry.
• Take off your jewelry if perspiring.
• You can clean your jewelry with a soft cloth. 
• Bear in mind that other jewelry can damage or scratch your plated jewelry so store your plated pieces separately to extend their life.

Gemstones

Take care while wearing jewelry with gemstones especially rings. Stones can be knocked out of settings or chipped. Some gemstones are softer than others and can scratch or crack if knocked.

Earring posts

Earring posts and butterfly backs are 100% gold plated silver to prevent allergic reactions. Take care with delicate earring posts.

Warranty

Emi & Eve covers the cost of reasonable repairs under normal wear for the first 12 months after purchase.

Since we use a recycled material, the warranty does not include plating. However the clear coating seals the gold plating and should prevent tarnishing. 

Please note that if any other jeweller undertakes work on one of our pieces, including resizing or repairs, this warranty will be voided.
